Mobile Broadband

Does anyone use mobile broadband services within Montclair, and do you have any feedback on the cost, quality and signal strength? I'd be glad to hear your comments.

An interest has been expressed in getting an Internet connection up at Dolphin Beach on Montclair Day so that residents can be invited to sign-up for our managment company's online service, Armstrong Connect, on the spot. If you have a strong broadband connection (and hopefully unlimited minutes) that you'd be willing to share for this purpose, please let me know.

Thanks,

Chris

If you have a verizon unlimited data plan, there is a way to set it up to allow the cell phone to act as a modem. I used this article: HERE and I'm currently posting to the montclair post with that setup. It was a pain, since I had to try several different methods to get my data access to stop so that it would recognize the phone attached to the USB port as a modem, but it works. Now I need time to test people signing up for an account down at the beach.

I'm getting connection speed of 214 Kbps which is much better than a standard 56k modem and really not that much slower than a broadband connection serving up internet pages.
