Interesting article in The Washington Post today about community websites.

Plugging Into a Community That Clicks

The author talks about what makes for a good website, interviews residents about what they like or not about using websites, and has a sidebar on 13 sites you can checkout.

I did a quick look at about half of them, looking in particular for how they handle 'history' (of course!). What struck me is that our Montclair website is as good or better than any listed in the article, IMHO.

But compare for yourself and if you see stuff you like about other sites, post comments here for your Communications Committee to consider (I know some of the committee members regularly cruise this montclairPOST site!)

Best line in the Post article is the last one:

"There has to be something else that binds a community together. 'The magic isn't all in the web site,' Heller said"
