Continuing Attempts To Undermine Storm Water Task Force Efforts

Submitted by TheIslandTimes on Sun, 08/10/2008 - 2:58pm.

As I believe you are all aware, MPOA appointed a Storm Water Task Force, that has worked diligently, with candor and integrity, to gather and assimilate suggestions and recommendations from the various MPOA committees and also from Montclair homeowners, that might significantly reduce the possibility of future flooding of Lake Montclair. Despite these efforts on behalf of Montclair homeowners there are still a number of elements in play, which may prove to undermine everything the Task Force has tried to accomplish. President Cech continues to disparage homeowners that suffered damage or loss in the flood of May 11/12, and refuses to allow review and revisions to existing management and board practices, that might significantly reduce the possibility of a future reoccurence of this flood.

I urge you to voice your concerns regarding MPOA and Armstrong's overt actions to suppress information and ideas that all Montclair homeowners have a legitimate right to know.

I can't let this one go.

"President Cech", as you refer to him, does not have the power to refuse "to allow review and revisions to existing management and board practices." If other BoD members see that a change needs to be made, they can and will see that it is done.

As for disparaging homeowners, isn't that what you are doing to "President Cech"? And aren't you doing so without the courtesy (or is it courage) to do so under your own name?

I am not Jim Cech's biggest fan. There have been a number of times that we didn't see eye to eye, but what you are espousing here is not the unvarnished truth.

I hope your call to attend the BoD meeting does result in more attendance. At the last meeting, the only person to attend (other than the BoD) was the Chair of one of the committees. This clearly goes under the category that if you don't care enough to get involved, then you shouldn't be complaining. For the record, I'm happy to see that you are trying to generate interest, but I abhor the way you are doing it, especially without using your name.

Ahh it seems the Island Times are in "Cech", is "Cech-Mate" soon to happen?
