Obama Wins Montclair

Certainly we're all aware by now that Sen. Obama has won election to be the next President of the United States. Locally, Obama won every election precinct that includes portions of Montclair. His victories in Prince William and Loudon Counties were instrumental to his victory in Virginia, and winning Virginia was key to his victory nationally.

Here's the results precinct by precinct:

Henderson
McCain:1318
Obama:1397
Pattie
McCain:870
Obama:941
Montclair
McCain:1064
Obama:1143
Washington Reid
McCain:784
Obama:824

Interesting post-election tidbit...

"Virginia Commonwealth University political-science professor Robert Holsworth, who appeared with Frederick and Cranwell, said that Obama's margin of victory over Republican Sen. John McCain in Prince William County was larger than McCain's win margin in any jurisdiction in Virginia."

Doesn't this sort of fall under the category of rubbing it in? How about we get over the election and just support the President Elect?

I'm glad to hear you're getting behind the Pres-elect, Brad! Seriously, I don't know how anybody can afford to be partisan right now. I want to cry looking at my 401K and 529 statements the past couple months. I'm just not opening them anymore.

I do think the election results from PWC are really interesting though, just because its such a huge change from how the county has traditionally voted. No doubt a portion of that is the historic nature of the election and the African American vote. But there is also the fact that the demographics of the county are changing.

Lost in the transfer of this web site to new hosting was my reply to Brad that I wasn't sharing this info to 'rub anyone's nose' in Obama's victory, but simply as a point of interest that might be shared by others who like to examine the election results, especially given the major change locally and across Virginia. And also Brad's reply which I'll leave for him to re-characterize if he likes.
