Thefts at Forest Park High School

I'm interested in learning if there are others, students or parents, who have had experiences as a victim of theft at Forest Park High School. My son is a Sophomore there and recently had some valuables stolen from his shared gym locker. He says that students are warned that they use the lockers at their own risk, and that the school takes no responsibility for anything stolen from them. The lockers are very small, and shared by multiple students, and apparently are easily broken into.

Some other anecdotes I've heard, but for which I have no first hand information:

- a friend's child recently had a wallet, cell phone and iPod stolen from their locker.

- in one instance a member of the football team was found to have stolen from another student's locker, and his only punishment was a one-game suspension

Surely if the problem is as prevalent as it sounds, the school can do more than to take a complete hands-off, we're not responsible approach. Is the locker room door locked between periods? Are there security cameras in the school? What other security is there?

So I'm interested again, do you have similar stories? If so, please share them here.

My son is a junior. He had his uniform stolen from his gym locker. Beyond that he hasn't had anything stolen.

I remember that my siblings often had stuff stolen from them in high school (I went to Catholic school, no theft there).
