Comcast Lineup

If you have basic cable you probably already realize that Comcast changed the lineup. Comcast has not update their website to reflect the change. We are now on the same channel lineup as is the western part of Prince William County. I put in a fictious street address with a Gainesville address to get to the correct link.

Try the following link to get the channel lineup.

On my first glance it looks like we only lost the AMC channel and gained the following channels:

CN8, TV Land, ETWN, WGN

Thanks for the headsup Comcast.

Wow, they brought back WGN eh? It was several years ago, when Comcast dropped WGN in favor of The Food Network, that we bailed on them in favor of a satellite dish. My wife has to have her Cubs. Now we're spoiled by getting many more Cubs games than just the ones WGN carries, so there's no going back for us.

If you have comcast digital service, you'll know we just went from like 400 channels to 600. Crazy! I have four different MTVs!

Most psyched about Fox Soccer Channel. I may never leave my home.

Well, maybe I spoke too soon in my praise of DirecTV. I just learned that tall trees will quash our hopes for any HD DirecTV at our house. The visiting installer was quick to look up and say that our own tree and our neighbor's trees would block the view of satellites in two different directions and that there was no point in trying. Given the choice between Trees and TV, I'm glad to pick trees. But still, damn...

you should really see the trees in HD.. they look awesome!

Chris,

If you can get the signal remoted from my Directv HD satellite, I'll host your Directv HD box in our attic... I can't believe you let some installer talk you out of it. I would at the very least let him hook it up and give it a try. Our market is one that comes with all the local channels in HD from the Over the air, such as CBS, ABC, NBC. With Piture-in-a-Picture, side by side, the difference is just sick. Here is a thought... get the Directv HD DVR, let me hack it with two 500 GB drives, plug it in to my system...record for a month.. take it back to your house and watch the programs recorded. OR CHOP A HOLE IN SOME TREES and Plant a few more to make up for it in someone's yard that is on cable tv.
